Whether its fine lines, enlarged pores or puffy under-eye areas that are threatening to ruin your Bank Holiday weekend, an egg white mask will work on your woes. Carrots are jam-packed with retinol, a vital anti-ageing ingredient, which is why we love this homemade mask from Makeupandbeauty. Simply boil a few carrots and mash into a creamy paste. Finally add a teaspoon of oatmeal and a teaspoon of honey and mix together.

Apply to the face and leave on for 10-15 minutes before washing off with warm water. It is recommended to moisturise after using the mask, as it can be a little drying, and to use it only once or twice a week as the colouring of the carrots can transfer onto your skin. If orange is your thing, use more!

It is advisable to test any homemade recipes on the inside of your arm before applying to the face.
